A few years ago, while on call for two Valley hospitals, Dr. Gregory Grant, a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, grew frustrated. Like usual, he received calls asking for his expertise-but to see the patient files, he had to go into the office or the hospital.
He thought that there had to be a more efficient way for physicians to review patient information and make a diagnosis. It was then that the idea for Photon, a HIPAA-compliant messaging platform centered on a patient’s chart, was born. Read more (page 32).
